CSIR NGRI Technician Recruitment 2026

The CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI), Hyderabad has released the Technician (1) / Group-II (1) Recruitment 2026 notification. The recruitment has been announced under Advertisement No. 01/2026 dated September 5, 2026, for 21 Technician vacancies in different trades.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications online from September 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The last date to submit the online application and pay the applicable fee is October 4, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

A total of 21 vacancies are available across nine different trades.

CSIR-NGRI Technician Eligibility 2026

The basic qualification for the Technician posts is SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and a minimum of 55% marks, along with the relevant trade qualification.

Candidates can generally qualify through any one of the following routes:

• SSC/10th with Science subjects and at least 55% marks + relevant ITI/National/State Trade Certificate; or
• SSC/10th with Science subjects and at least 55% marks + two years of full-time apprenticeship training in the relevant trade; or
• SSC/10th with Science subjects and at least 55% marks + three years of relevant work experience in the specified Government/PSU/Autonomous Body organisations.

The relevant trade must match the post for which the candidate is applying.

Trade-wise Qualification

For the Catering & Hospitality Assistant post, the specified experience route also covers relevant experience in areas such as Food & Beverages, Tourism and Guest House Management.

Age Limit

The maximum age for the Technician posts is 28 years as on the closing date of the online application, i.e. October 4, 2026, with applicable relaxation for eligible categories.

The notification provides relaxations for categories including SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and certain government/CSIR employees as per the applicable rules.

CSIR NGRI Technician Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Matrix Level-2, with a basic pay scale of:

₹19,900 – ₹63,200

The approximate gross monthly emoluments are ₹39,970, including applicable HRA for a Class X city.

The post also carries All India Service Liability, meaning selected candidates can be liable for service at CSIR laboratories, institutes or units as applicable.

Application Fee

The application fee for eligible non-exempt candidates is:

• ₹500 – Application fee
• No fee for SC, ST, PwBD, Women and Ex-Servicemen candidates, subject to submission of the required supporting documents.

The NGRI application portal uses SBI Collect for payment of the application fee.

CSIR-NGRI Technician Selection Process

The selection process consists of two major stages:

1. Trade Test

Candidates shortlisted after scrutiny of applications will be called for a Trade Test relevant to the post/trade.

The Trade Test is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify will proceed to the competitive written examination.

2. Competitive Written Examination

The written examination will be conducted in OMR-based or Computer-Based Objective Multiple Choice format.

Paper-I has no negative marking. In Paper-II and Paper-III, one mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Paper-II and Paper-III are evaluated only for candidates who cross the minimum threshold in Paper-I. The final merit list is prepared using the marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III.

The examination standard is SSC + ITI / XII Standard. Questions are generally set in English and Hindi, except questions in the English Language section.
