TGPSC ASO Eligibility 2026
Educational Qualification
The educational qualification is one of the most important parts of this recruitment.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with any one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects; or
- Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics as one of the main subjects, with Statistics studied as a paper in one, two or all three years, as applicable; or
- Bachelor’s Degree with Economics as one of the main subjects, with Statistics studied as a paper; or
- Bachelor’s Degree with Commerce as one of the main subjects, with Statistics studied as a paper; or

The degree must be from a recognised university or institution covered by the notification.
Distance Education Qualification
Candidates who obtained their degree through Open University or Distance Education must ensure that the qualification is recognised by the applicable statutory authority, such as UGC, AICTE or Distance Education Bureau, as applicable.

The age is calculated as on 01 July 2026.
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 44 years
For the minimum age, candidates should not have been born after 01 July 2008. For the general maximum age, candidates should not have been born before 02 July 1982.

TGPSC ASO Selection Process 2026
Selection will be based on marks obtained in the objective-type examination, conducted through CBRT or OMR mode. Candidates will be selected in order of merit against vacancies available in their respective zones.
The minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the Commission are:
- OC, Sports Persons & EWS: 40%
- BC: 35%
- SC, ST & PwD: 30%
Simply obtaining the minimum qualifying percentage does not guarantee selection.

Applications are to be submitted online through the TGPSC website.
Step 1 – TGPSC One Time Registration
Candidates who have not previously registered with TGPSC need to complete One Time Registration (OTR) and obtain a TGPSC ID.
Candidates who already have an OTR can use their existing TGPSC ID.
