ARCI Hyderabad Recruitment 2026

The International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), Hyderabad, has released Recruitment Notification No. ARCI/HRD/RECT/1/2026 for various scientific, technical, administrative and support staff positions. The recruitment includes vacancies for Scientist B, Officer B (Finance & Accounts), Technical Assistant A, Assistant A, Technician A and Driver A.

1. Scientist B (R&D) – 4 Vacancies

2. Officer B (Finance & Accounts) – 1 Vacancy

This post is to be filled through deputation. Candidates must meet the prescribed government service, qualification and experience requirements.

3. Technical Assistant A – 7 Vacancies

4. Assistant A – 6 Vacancies

Of the six positions, five are to be placed at ARCI Hyderabad and one at the ARCI Gurugram Office.

5. Technician A – 9 Vacancies

6. Driver A – 2 Vacancies

Preference will be given to Ex-Servicemen for the Driver A post.

ARCI Recruitment 2026 – Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive salary according to the applicable Central Government pay level. The notification provides the following approximate monthly gross emoluments.

The stated emoluments are approximate. Salary and allowances are governed by the applicable rules. Benefits mentioned in the notification include the New Pension Scheme, gratuity, group insurance, medical reimbursement, Children Education Allowance and Leave Travel Concession, subject to the applicable conditions.

ARCI Recruitment 2026 – Educational Qualifications and Experience

1. Scientist B (R&D)

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology in one of the specified disciplines:

• Materials Engineering
• Materials Science and Engineering
• Metallurgical Engineering
• Materials and Metallurgical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

The degree must be from a recognised university or institute.

Desirable Qualifications: A master’s degree in a relevant discipline and one year of R&D experience in industry, research and development organisations, academic institutions or science and technology organisations are desirable.

2. Officer B (Finance & Accounts)

Recruitment Method: Deputation, normally for a period not exceeding three years from the date of joining.

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institute with a good academic record or equivalent.

The post is intended for eligible officers working in Central or State Governments, universities, recognised research institutions, semi-government organisations, statutory bodies or autonomous organisations.

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed service requirements and possess substantial experience in Finance and Accounts in comparable organisations. Knowledge of government financial rules, budgeting, project finance, procurement, tendering, accounts management, GST, income tax and related financial procedures is required.

3. Technical Assistant A

Candidates must meet either of the following educational requirements:

• B.Sc. in Physical Sciences, with Chemistry as one of the subjects, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university or institute; or
• A three-year full-time diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised technical education board.

The notification also states that candidates possessing higher qualifications such as M.Sc., B.Tech., B.E., M.Tech., M.E., M.S. or Ph.D. will not be considered for this entry-level post. Candidates should carefully review this restriction before applying.

4. Assistant A

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with a good academic record or equivalent.

Additionally, three years of relevant experience is required in areas such as:

• Administration and establishment
• Director’s Office or Secretariat
• Human Resource Development
• Finance and Accounts
• Purchase and inventory
• Liaison work

The experience should be in government departments, academic or scientific institutions, autonomous bodies or research laboratories. Knowledge of MS Office, e-Office and ERP applications is also required.

5. Technician A

Candidates must possess:

• 10th/SSC pass qualification; and
• A two-year full-time ITI qualification in Fitter, Turner or Electrician trade from a recognised technical education board.

The notification also requires three years of technical experience in industry or R&D laboratories.

For this post, the notification states that higher qualifications such as a diploma, B.Sc., M.Sc., B.Tech., B.E., M.Tech., M.E. or M.S. will not be considered. The prescribed experience must be supported by acceptable documentation. Apprenticeship or trainee experience may be counted subject to the notification’s conditions.

6. Driver A

Candidates must satisfy all the following essential requirements:

• Pass in 10th/SSC or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board.
• Valid driving licences for light and heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of motor mechanisms, including identifying and rectifying minor vehicle defects.
• At least three years of experience driving light vehicles.
• At least six years of experience driving heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of maintaining vehicle logbooks, journey records, fuel consumption details and related documents.

The prescribed driving experience must be after obtaining valid light and heavy vehicle licences, as applicable. Experience certificates must meet the notification’s requirements.

ARCI Recruitment 2026 – Age Limit

The maximum age limit differs by post.

The age limit is to be determined as specified in the notification, with the closing date for applications being the relevant reference date.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is available to eligible reserved-category candidates according to the applicable Government of India rules.

• SC candidates: 5 years of upper-age relaxation, where applicable.
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years, where applicable.
• Persons with Disabilities and Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per applicable government orders.

Candidates must upload valid supporting certificates. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and EWS candidates must meet the notification’s certificate validity requirements.

ARCI Recruitment 2026 – Application Fee

The application processing fee differs according to the post and category.

The notification specifies that candidates belonging to reserved categories who apply for unreserved posts must pay the full applicable fee.
