IREL ITI Tradesman Trainee Recruitment 2026

IREL (India) Limited has released a recruitment notification for 131 Tradesman Trainee vacancies in different trades. Candidates with the required ITI qualification and relevant work experience can apply for these posts through the online application process.

The recruitment includes vacancies for Fitter, Electrician, Instrumentation and Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) trades. Selected candidates will undergo one year of training and may be considered for regular employment after successfully completing the training, subject to the company’s conditions.

IREL has announced a total of 131 vacancies across four trades.

Unit-wise vacancy details

The vacancies are distributed across different IREL units and locations.

Candidates should carefully check the vacancy details for their preferred trade and unit before submitting the application.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the qualification prescribed for the trade in which they wish to apply.

1. Tradesman Trainee – Fitter

Candidates must have an ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the Fitter trade.

2. Tradesman Trainee – Electrician

Candidates must have an ITI or NAC in the Electrician trade. A valid statutory licence is also essential.

3. Tradesman Trainee – Instrumentation

Candidates must have an ITI or NAC in the Instrumentation trade.

4. Tradesman Trainee – Attendant Operator Chemical Plant (AOCP)

Candidates must possess either an ITI or NAC in the Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) trade, or 10+2 Science qualification with Chemistry as a subject and at least 50% aggregate marks.

Work experience requirement

The notification requires two years of post-qualification experience in the relevant trade or discipline at a reputed industrial establishment. On-the-job training and apprenticeship training are included as specified in the notification.

For AOCP candidates, the required experience relates to operating chemical or allied process industries, including apprenticeship experience.

IREL internal candidates may be eligible under the separate provision specified in the notification, which includes SSC qualification with four years of relevant trade or operational experience. Candidates should read the official advertisement to confirm which provision applies to them.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years as on the closing date of the application. Age relaxation is available to eligible categories as per the recruitment rules.

Relaxation for ex-servicemen and eligible candidates from Jammu and Kashmir is also provided under the applicable rules. The maximum age after relaxation is subject to the limit specified in the notification. Candidates should refer to the official advertisement for the conditions and supporting documents required.

Salary and Stipend

Selected candidates will undergo one year of training and receive a stipend of ₹34,200 per month during the training period.

HRA may be payable at applicable rates based on the minimum W-3 pay of ₹22,000 if company bachelor accommodation is not provided. Medical facilities for the candidate and dependent family members are available as applicable under company rules.

After successful completion of training, candidates may be absorbed into the regular W-3 Tradesman grade, subject to the conditions in the notification.

• Pay scale after absorption: ₹22,000–₹88,000
• Approximate annual CTC: ₹6.5 lakh, based on the assumptions stated in the notification

Actual remuneration may vary according to the posting location and applicable benefits. Regular absorption is not automatic and is subject to successful completion of training and the company’s requirements.

Application Fee

Candidates must pay the prescribed application and processing fees online.

For UR, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, the total amount is ₹826, comprising an application fee of ₹472 including GST and a processing fee of ₹354 including GST.

The application fee is exempted for the specified categories listed above, but the processing fee remains payable. The fee is non-refundable and must be paid through the online payment facility.
