IPR Vacancy 2026 – Post-Wise Details

The Institute for Plasma Research has announced 58 vacancies across three post categories. The vacancies are distributed among different engineering branches, Physics and administrative work.

Project Scientific Assistant has the highest number of vacancies, with 47 posts across six disciplines. Project Scientific Officer accounts for eight vacancies, while three posts are available for Project Administrative Staff.

For the Physics discipline, the prescribed qualification is B.Sc. in Physics, with the minimum marks requirement specified in the notification.

3. Project Administrative Staff

• A graduate degree in Arts, Commerce, Management, Science, Law or Computer Application.
• A certified course in Computer.

• Ex-Servicemen

Candidates claiming age relaxation must submit the relevant certificates in the prescribed format.

IPR Recruitment 2026 – Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive consolidated monthly remuneration, including HRA, according to the post.

The above amounts are specified in the notification as consolidated remuneration, including House Rent Allowance (HRA).

In addition to the stated remuneration, eligible employees will be provided the Medical Scheme facility under the institute’s Contributory Health Service Scheme (CHSS) for self only. Applicable monthly deductions will be made according to IPR CHSS rules.

Nature of Appointment

All three categories involve purely temporary appointments for a maximum period of three years.

The engagement will automatically cease upon expiry of the prescribed tenure. The appointment does not confer any right to temporary or permanent employment at the institute during or after the project period.

The institute will review candidates’ performance at the end of each year and reserves the right to discontinue an appointment if performance is found unsatisfactory.

IPR Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

The selection process differs according to the post.

Project Scientific Officer and Project Scientific Assistant

Selection for Project Scientific Officer and Project Scientific Assistant will be based solely on the candidate’s performance in the interview.

However, the institute may conduct a written test, if required, for screening purposes.

Project Administrative Staff

Selection for Project Administrative Staff will be based on the following:

1. Written Test
2. Computer Skill Test

Applications will first be scrutinised based on criteria such as age, educational qualifications, category certificates and application-fee receipts. Only candidates with valid applications will be considered for the applicable selection stages.

The institute will publish the list of selected candidates on its official website. A merit-based waiting list may also be published and will remain valid for one year from the date of declaration of the final result.

IPR Recruitment 2026 – Application Fee

Candidates must pay the prescribed application fee according to their category.

The application fee must be paid online through SBI Collect.

Candidates claiming an exemption must submit the relevant supporting certificate. The notification states that applications claiming fee exemption without the required certificate will not be considered.
