DRDO DRDL Hyderabad Paid Internship 2026
The Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Hyderabad, a premier laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has released a notification for Paid Internship 2026 for eligible Engineering and Physical Science students.
Under Advertisement No. DRDL/HRD/INTERNSHIP/2026/01, DRDL has announced 165 internship opportunities for students pursuing final-year undergraduate Engineering or final-year postgraduate Engineering/Physical Science programmes. The internship will be for a period of six months, with selected students receiving a monthly stipend of ₹5,000.

DRDO DRDL Internship Eligibility 2026
Candidates must be pursuing a full-time Graduate Engineering or Postgraduate Engineering/Physical Science course in the respective discipline from a recognised Indian university or institute.

DRDL Internship Duration
The duration of the internship/project work training is six months.

Students who successfully complete the six-month internship, including the required project evaluation, project report and other formalities, will receive a completion certificate.
DRDO DRDL Internship Stipend
Selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹5,000 per month.
However, payment of the stipend is subject to satisfactory performance and completion of the required physical attendance. The notification states that interns must complete a minimum of 15 working days per month at DRDL/ASL/CAS.
The stipend will be paid in two instalments, with the first instalment being paid after completion of three months of training/internship.
Students who leave the programme before completing the minimum required tenure of three months will not receive payment, and a completion certificate will not be issued.
DRDL Hyderabad Internship Selection Process
Selection will be based entirely on merit.
Candidates are required to have a good academic record with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. The notification states that eligible candidates may be shortlisted based on their academic percentage and interaction/interview.
CGPA will be converted into percentage wherever applicable, based on the average of completed semesters/years.
The Principal/Director of the candidate’s institution must provide a request/referral letter for highly deserving and meritorious students.

Documents Required
Shortlisted candidates will have to submit/produce several documents at the time of joining, including:
- Original No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the college
- Police verification or acknowledgement from the local police station
- Undertaking regarding adherence to the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923
- Undertaking regarding applicable Ministry of Defence IT rules
- Bank account details for stipend payment
- Medical fitness certificate from an authorised medical practitioner holding at least an MBBS degree
- Original Aadhaar card
- College ID card
- Three passport-size photographs
- Previous semester marksheets in original for verification
- Other documents, if required
The original documents/marksheets brought for verification will be returned immediately after verification, according to the notification.
College NOC and Principal’s Recommendation
One of the important requirements in this internship is the involvement of the candidate’s college or institution.
The college must provide a request letter on its official letterhead, signed by the Principal/Director, recommending the meritorious student for the six-month paid internship.
The college must also provide an NOC confirming that the student will be relieved to undergo the internship and will be physically present at the DRDL/ASL/CAS establishment for at least 15 working days per month.

Boarding, Lodging and Travel
DRDL has clarified that no boarding or lodging expenses will be provided to interns.
Selected candidates must make their own arrangements for accommodation and transportation in Hyderabad.
However, interns may use facilities such as lunch, tea and snacks available at the DRDL/ASL/CAS wet canteen at subsidised rates.
Candidates attending the walk-in/interview process are also advised to make their own travel and stay arrangements and should be prepared to stay in Hyderabad for one or more days if required due to the number of candidates attending.
